Dream Work & Trauma Recovery

Research shows that this approach is as effective for trauma recovery as psychotherapy and has less cultural bias barriers.

Experiential embodied dream work (a modality within somatic psychology) carries a dreamer through their dream story slowly enough to review the sensations and emotions in detail.  Extending the dream story with additional visualizations allows the dreamer to initiate and resolve dynamics in ways that precede doing so in waking life.  This allows trauma and dysregulated dynamics to resolve.  It also unleashes untapped potential and a sense of purpose.  When messages from the dream life are processed therapeutically, the intensity of nightmares decreases.  There is a strong correlation between nightmare frequency/intensity and suicidal tendencies.
